Reinvigorating Dolce&Gabbana’s iconic fragrance for a truly transportive experience.
How do you move an icon forward without losing what made it iconic? Backed by nearly 25 years of fans and an untouched design, Light Blue didn’t need a complete reinvention. When Dolce&Gabbana came to us, they wanted a partner to help take a thoughtful step into the future, with a new design that could honour its story while appealing to a new generation.
THE INSIGHT
This wasn’t about changing what worked, but deepening the connection between the fragrance and the world it represents. In a world of throwaways, we crafted a design that could tell that story through every detail, creating a bottle that can transport as powerfully as the scent itself.
THE IDEA
Collaborating closely with Dolce&Gabbana’s beauty team, we developed a sensitive, contemporary design that captures the essence of Capri through subtle cues of touch, form, and material, rather than overt symbols.
The soft, rounded glass reflects the look of sea glass, naturally smoothed by the tide. Its gentle curvature mirrors Capri’s cliffs and coastline. Frosted finishings suggest the coolness of sea mist, while the porcelain caps—individually glazed and finished with the DG monogram—reference the island’s iconic majolica tiles, known for staying cool even under the Mediterranean sun.
THE IMPACT
For the first time in nearly 25 years of Light Blue, the bottle itself has become part of the narrative. In its physical presence, it extends the fragrance’s story and the world it inhabits, embodying its heritage while embracing a renewed commitment to craft, culture, and place. A step forward for this enduring icon.
